One of the important components of our annual Love Extended outreach campaign is home visits. This year physical therapists, occupational therapists, special education professionals and a mobility and orientation specialist came to train families in their homes. Apart from the training, specialists and translators took time to encourage and pray for the families. We were also able to send out dozens of wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility equipment to improve quality of life.
The second part of the week was dedicated to conferences at the local high school. Eternal Anchor staff, parents, and other interested members of the community took part in a two-day seminar that covered topics in physical and occupational therapy, special education and nutrition.
At the end of the week, we hosted a family fun day at the pools. It was a great opportunity for families to spend quality time together while being in community with other families of students in our program. We are so grateful for a successful week. Love and hope spread in our community as a result of the hard work of our staff and volunteers.
- We are in desperate need of some new vehicles. If you have a used car, passenger van, SUV, or bus with a lift that is is in good shape and that you’re willing to donate to Eternal Anchor, please let us know. The vehicles we have to transport children to/from school and medical appointments and do home visits in the community are starting to break down. We need reliable vehicles to continue the work we do each week.
- Please pray for more consistent monthly donations. More monthly commitments would allow us to pay for more teacher salaries and the gasoline to pick more children up. We have the space but need more funds to take more children in from our waitlist.
- Sharing about the beautiful work being done through Eternal Anchor and advocating for the children and adults with special needs in our programs is something we love to do. If your church, school or small group would like to schedule a visit from an Eternal Anchor director, please EMAIL us.
