This month, we were given the green light from government officials and our state’s health department to reopen our school. We are taking all necessary precautions to keep our students and staff safe. All of the children are so happy to be back in their routine. Families are grateful for the respite and the opportunity for their children to continue learning and receiving therapy. Due to the drop in monthly donations, we’ve had to lay off a few of our teachers, so adjusting to the new student to teacher ratio has been challenging. If you’re able to sign up to give monthly, it would be a huge blessing to help us fill those staff vacancies. You can also help by purchasing some of the items from our Amazon Wish List.
For health reasons, Efrén will no longer be able to assist our adult life skills training program. We had a big party to celebrate his last day, playing games and eating pizza. He’ll be greatly missed in our program. Please keep him and his family in your prayers.
This month, we broke ground on our Mobility Workshop! Once it’s finished, we’ll be able to store, adapt, and distribute mobility and therapy equipment much more efficiently. The new building will also hold office space for our social workers.
- Pray for the health and safety of the families we work with during these difficult times.
- Please pray for funding for our school build. We are raising money for a building that will give us the capacity to double in size and offer quality specialized education to even more children (to donate to the school build, click HERE).
- Please pray for new houseparents for our residential program. We are looking for a couple to take over one of the homes and offer loving, full-time care to six children.
